California Trip 2011

She's growing up

Lina's hair can finally all go into one pony tail.

Now when she reads this book she actually says the animals, the sounds, and almost tells the storyline.

She is so well behaved in nursery. I wish she was this good for me.

Clint's graduation from Lina's perspective

Why does everyone complain about graduation ceremonies? I got fruit snacks...

and cheese sticks....

and my fingers...

and aunts to bounce me on their laps...

and more fruit snacks...

ok, yah that was long and boring....

two days later I finally crash while playing with my blocks in the living room. All that partying finally caught up to me.

She even uses a napkin

There are certain activities that she only likes to do with Clint. Her building blocks for example, she'll ask Clint to help her build a garage and then she'll set out two pillows on the rug, drag her box of blocks over and then pull him over and direct him to sit on one of the pillows.

We took her to Chucky Cheese's (I don't know how you spell that) and she would only let Clint play the Ski Ball game with her. In addition, she wouldn't have one bite of pizza and instead when we got to Abi's afterwards she ate steamed zucchini, broccoli, and fresh tomato slices. Who is this kid!?

Easter 2011

Her Easter dress came compliments of Abi of course.

And then more easter eggs to hunt for at Nana's house.

She had figured out by this hunt that there is candy inside of them. So she would get one and open it before she put it in her basket. If she found one with nothing in it she'd say "no hay nada" (there's nothing) and then put it on the other side in her basket.

Easter Egg Hunt

One of Lina's new things is she lays down on the floor, puts her hand out, and says "Mom, help me, help me!". It's so dang cute.

We had the Pimienta family over for the Easter egg hunt. Seth, Zach, and Lina did awesome.

Lina got a bunny that makes a chicken sound. Weird. She loved it though.
And of course she ended the morning super tired from all the fun.
Oh and I freezer stenciled a Easter shirt for her too.

Flash Update

I got creative and freezer stenciled a shirt for Lina to wish her Abi (my MIL) a happy birthday!

Happy Birthday Abi!
Then she crashed after church. I love that she goes to nursery. She has so much fun there and then usually falls asleep before we even make it home.
We were at church with my family for Josue's farewell and it was the cutest thing because Lina kept on pointing across the aisle to the other pew and calling out "Charlie".
My sister gave Lina her son's power wheels that he's outgrown. We decided to not get a battery for it yet because Lina's not big enough yet. And a little bit because I am lazy and don't want to commit to sitting out in the back with her helping her get unstuck every 5 seconds. At any rate, she loves it despite it's immobility. She puts her Dora toy in there, closes the door and pretends to drive around in it. It's super cute, and certainly requires less effort on my part than the above mentioned option.
There's this stinking toy at the park that every time we go she insists I get on it with her. She won't let anyone else! I love it and hate it at the same time.
This is a picture of Lina being a brat. I have evidence. Yes, she certainly has turned on her brat factor. She threw sand at me when I told her to turn around for a picture. I wish I could say that things have gotten better in the last few months.

Back in the day...

I used to update my blog regularly....now I find myself putting it off and so today I went through my pictures and decided to just run through them and post them real quick. It can't take that long, right?

In March we went to UT to visit my friend Jill and her new baby Wes. Of course I don't have a single picture of her or her new baby (I am such a good friend I know it).

Lina's first airplane ride where she got her own seat! It was totally by accident because it was a "full flight" but it worked out great. She played, ate, watched some Dora, and then we were there! She kept on trying to get the guy next to her to play, she even tickled him a couple of times.
We went to this awesome McDonald's with a play place bigger than my house. Lina had a melt down when we left after being there for an hour.
In UT it's cold in March. Weird. So Lina borrowed some winter clothes and of course found some bigger kids to go play with.
And we discovered an indoor jump park. It would have been nice if Lina would've gone done the huge slides herself.
This was one of the jump toys that she could be in by herself because it was age appropriate and of course she only spent 5 mins in there and begged to get out to go to the big ones.

Lina's Friends

Some of my friends from church came up with the idea to switch off babysitting once a week for institute. There's a handful of us who participate so Lina gets to have her friends over every few weeks. Basically they watch Diego, eat snacks, and run around like kids fighting over eachother's toys. She loves it and is genuinelly sad when they leave.
From left to right Max, Bryn, Lu, Sofie, Lina. We were missing a couple of kids this last week.

Shower Duty

Lina's favorite part of her shower routine is getting tucked into our bed right after her long shower.
She snuggles under the sheets with no rush to get dressed.
She takes her time and eventually she lets me get her dressed.
Then right back under the covers she goes.

This is what Sunday night looked like at my house.
